Before You Book
Most people who book with me don't like having their photo taken.
That's normal, and it's the part I'm actually best at. Every session is fully directed — posture, angle, expression, all of it. You will never be left standing there wondering what to do with your hands.
Matt is extremely talented — but what really makes him stand out is how easy and natural he makes the process. I finally have headshots I'm proud of.
Matt went above and beyond from start to finish. He was incredibly responsive, easy to work with, and made the whole experience seamless.
Professional, fast, and the quality is unreal. I booked him for my team after my session — everyone loved their photos.
If you don't love them, we shoot again.
You should not pay for a photograph you won't use. If nothing in your gallery feels right, tell me and we'll reshoot — no charge, no awkward conversation.
Sessions & Pricing
Two ways to book. Both fully directed.
Choose based on how many looks you need — not how many photos you want to sort through. Everything else is the same either way.
The Essential
$295
One strong professional headshot.
- Approximately 30 minutes
- One look — one background, one outfit
- One fully retouched final image
- Same-day private proof gallery
- Finals within 48 hours
Most booked
The Professional
$395
Two looks, so one photo isn't doing every job.
- Approximately 45 minutes
- Two looks — second background and outfit
- Two fully retouched final images
- Same-day private proof gallery
- Finals within 48 hours
What two looks actually gets you
Same session, same person. Two images that do different jobs — so you're not using one formal headshot everywhere and hoping it fits.
Included with both
- Complete direction — posture, angle, expression
- Wardrobe guidance before your session
- Company-style matching on request
- Natural retouching that still looks like you
- High-resolution and web-ready files
- Full usage for your work and marketing
Additional retouched images from your proof gallery — $50 each. No obligation to buy more than what's included.
Need more than two looks?
If you're launching a website, building an author or speaker platform, or need images that work across marketing and social, a personal branding session is the better fit — multiple outfits, environments, and 8 to 24 finished images. Collections start at $750.
Who You'll Be Working With
Before this, I spent fifteen years directing actors.
Matt DraperPhotographer · Director · Former audition coach
In Los Angeles I coached auditions, directed scenes, cut demo reels, and made films. Fifteen years of watching for the small shift — in posture, in thought, in energy — that makes someone look like themselves instead of like a person being photographed.
Most headshot photographers learn to light a face well. I learned how to get something real out of someone who walked in nervous.
That's why the session works even if you've never liked a photo of yourself. You're not being asked to perform. You're being directed — and you'll know exactly what to do the entire time.
My job isn't to make you perform for the camera. It's to create the conditions where something real can happen in front of it.

Before You Book
The practical details.
What should I wear — and do I need professional hair and makeup?
Wear what you'd wear to a meeting that matters. Solid colors and simple layers photograph best; avoid large logos and tight repeating patterns that fight with your face. Bring two or three options and we'll choose together before we start — you don't have to decide alone.
Professional hair and makeup isn't required. Arrive looking the way you'd want to look walking into that meeting. Schedule haircuts or color a few days ahead rather than the morning of, and bring anything you use for small touch-ups.
Where is the studio, and how long will I be there?
Draper Studios, 816 Acoma Street in Downtown Denver. The Essential session runs about 30 minutes and The Professional about 45. Both are photographed indoors, so weather never moves your appointment.
How soon can I get in?
Often within a few days. Live availability is on the booking calendar — pick any open time that works and you're confirmed immediately. If you're against a deadline, email me and I'll do what I can to fit you in.
When do I get my photos, and how do I choose?
You'll get a private proof gallery the same day as your session, so you can review everything at your own pace instead of deciding under pressure in the studio. Once you send your selections, finished images arrive within 48 hours in both high-resolution and web-ready formats.
Can you match my company's existing headshot style?
Yes. Send your company's existing headshots or photography guidelines before the session and I'll match the background, lighting direction, crop, and file specs so your new photo sits naturally beside the rest of the team. We can also shoot a second variation that's yours to use anywhere else.
What if I need to reschedule?
Life happens. Reach out as early as you can and we'll find another time — rescheduling more than 24 hours ahead is straightforward. If something comes up last minute, email or call and we'll sort it out.
Ready when you are.
A fully directed session in Downtown Denver. Same-day proofs, natural retouching, finished images within 48 hours.
